Hey, hey, hey, you! Yes, you! Do you want to take part in the world's first tournament for high school students? The main prize to anyone, able to crush all the opponents is something you will like: you can wish for anything. Good deal, right? What is wrong? You are bad at martial arts? No worries, you can bring any weapon with you; no restrictions whatsoever. You can use whatever martial arts you want! Any weapon! Weight category and gender do not matter! We guarantee you, you will not die; however, we cannot guarantee you that your pride will not be hurt, though. But this is worth it, is not it?
The God of High School focuses on Mo-Ri Jin, a 17-year-old martial artist from Seoul, South Korea. He is invited to join a tournament, sponsored by an unknown, mysterious organization, no one knows about to select martial artists that will later take part in even bigger tournament. The God of High School is a competition of martial artists across the whole world and the most skillful warrior will take it all. However, little is known about the shady tournaments, taking place.
It did not take me that long to like this manhwa; there are just so many things going on. The drawing is very interesting and pleasant to read. There are many jokes and comedy involved, however, the storyline is not affected by them in any way. As I have already said, there are just too many things going on: too many martial arts, some unknown creatures, Gods, demons, too many characters and even supporting characters are as interesting as the protagonists and you might just stop for a second and scratch your head for minute, without understanding what is going on. However, when you understand what is happening in The God of High School, I promise you, you will like it.
Plot wise. I would not say that it has anything new to offer; it is banal and simple. It is all about, may the strongest fighter win. Yet, at some point, you will just not understand what is going on, there are many martial arts, I do not think many of you know what kyokushin is, Christian-Buddhist and other mythologies and many, many more. Long story short, be ready to think, if you want to like this manhwa. Chances are, you might need to google a thing, or two. But it is worth it.
Perhaps, the best thing about this manhwa is its characters. What I like about The God of High School is that you will hardly see the main characters, when reading the manhwa. The reason for that is that The God of High School shows enough development for both main characters and supporting characters; some of the supporting characters might be as interesting, or maybe even more interesting than the main characters for you. That said, there are many characters, they all have their reasons and aims; they all are very interesting to follow. In addition to this, you will highly appreciate the fact that it is very difficult to find antagonists in this manhwa, so be very attentive, when reading the manhwa.
All in all, The God of High School is an amazing read. Taking into consideration the fact that one anime season will never cover the whole manhwa, you might consider reading it, when you have time. It is worth it. 459 of ? chapters read asterr259(All reviews)

With the anime on the horizon, if you have any qualms about reading 'GoH' or even watching it when it comes out, I'm here to put those to rest.
Art: It's amazing; from start to finish. The artist does an outstanding job depicting action and letting scenes lead your eye through the page.
Character: I have my gripes about how some of the characters are written, but for a series originally about a fighting tournament, they didn't even need to be written this well.
This could've easily just been a 'Fight-Win-Fight-Lose-Train-Fight-Win' cycle, but the author put forth the effort to make every character feel important and valued to the story, and while not always to their fullest potential, the effort should still be appreciated and respected.
Story: This is where my problems come in. Without spoiling anything, all I'm going to say is that there are a couple of arcs that last too long, some that are too short, and plot points that remain, or were never, unexplored. Things and Characters get introduced only to be tossed away later never to be used again. Though the author came out to apologize for it, and things have seem to come full circle in the story, but it's the little things that really get to me, and why I cannot rate this series higher than an 8 overall. 167 of ? chapters read BrawlerJoe(All reviews)

This webtoon/manhwa is very good, I really didn't wanted to try any of webtoon I thought that 'how can this be good' Idk why but I thought like that, this manhwa changed my opinion about webtoon and I'm really enjoying this story.
Mori Jin is Goku + Luffy alike character, dumb, fun, energetic. The most I like in this manhwa is that every character has it's own story and purposes, the author doing it very well, and fight scenes is just bomb just like in dragon ball not 'alike' fights but really exciting, I don't want to spoil too much so everyone should try this manhwa, after 70+ chapters it already became one of my favorites, I can't even feel how time flies when I'm reading this manhwa, It is way too much enjoyable 104 of ? chapters read LandoUniverse(All reviews)

This Manga is average. It's incredibly average. Average characters, average fights, boring Good vs Evil with no nuance. Cliche after cliche, so many forced events. The manga feels forced with absolutely no flow.
The story is boring. Good vs evil, whatever. Why is there a religious organization? Because it's cool. Why don't the audience react weirdly when they experience supernatural phenomenon? Who knows.. it's never explained. The Art is pretty good. The characters.... some are cool, most are just uninteresting.
The only redeeming quality of this entire series is the awesome relationship that the protagonist has with his grandfather and the underlying philosophy of 'Do what you want'. A slice of Life manga with just the two of these characters and this philosophy would be amazing, but instead we're stuck with this mediocre graveyard. I read this far because I hoped to see this philosophy show itself more, but alas it did not.
